Recommended Orchid Vendors in South Florida?

I am stoked! Just found out that I will be spending 2 weeks in December in Ft. Lauderdale and am looking for the best retail orchid vendors to visit. Yes, I will have a pickup truck and Christmas money!!! Any suggestions in Ft. L, Miami, Homestead that sell to the public?

Too numerous to count. But they may not be open to the public due to virus concerns, so be sure to call when you want to visit.

In Homestead I like RF Orchids, Motes. Be sure to visit the Fruit and Spice Park.

There are a number of private sellers without Web presence. Write to a local club and ask about vendor members who will give private showings.

in davie ( ft Lauderdale) hit up bamboo orchids on Flamingo road

in the Redlands RF, banjong, Motes and every little nursery you pass on the way

there are more...Keysguy and i have done this before lol...search for Redlands and you will find our other conversations too

Seriously? You've never done it? Then I hope your Christmas $ gets delivered in a Brinks truck.

Seeing as you're a total newbie, here's what I'd recommend. Start at RF. It's the best of the best and you'll be so apoplectic at what your eyes are seeing you'll either spend all of your money in 5 minutes or just stand in one spot and start shaking and drooling because your mind wants you to do something but your body won't respond.

Then go see as many others as you can and when you're done, go back to RF again as your swan song.

The idea here is that RF is amazing but they are also top $ (I think). You'll see plants you can't live without. Write them down then go look and see what you find elsewhere (both different plants and pricewise).

MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND KNOW WHAT CONDITIONS YOU CAN OFFER THESE PLANTS IN AL AND THEN BUY ONLY THE PLANTS THAT WILL THRIVE IN THAT ENVIRONMENT!!!!

As DC said, we've made suggestions before so search here in the forums or do some Google searches online.

And then, when this whole stupid pandemic finally passes, come back the third weekend in May for the Redland orchid show at the Fruit & Spice Park. Over 50 vendors from all over the world.......it's definitely worth the trip from AL.

Thanks for the info, Keysguy! And yes, DirtyC, I will be like Charlie in the Choc Factory. I live in an 'Orchid Desert' here in North AL, so this will be a dream trip.
