Gold Country Orchids
Didn't see a recent post dedicated to this vendor (although is mentioned throughout other forums) so I thought I'd start one.
Just received my shipment. Awesome looking plants and a great packing job got them through what should have been
a 2 day trip from CA vis USPS 2-day that ended up being 4. (I know, they are all overloaded these days).
Thanks to Alan's great packing the plants are pristine. The 4 not in sphag. are very dry though so they are getting a good soak now.
L-R in the first pic.
Back row; Zygoneria Adelaide Meadows, Podangis dactyloceras and Phal zebrina (2nd pic- 1 old spike and 3 new ones!)
Front row; Catt. lueddemanniana. Aerangis punctata and Phal. marriottiana

Awesome. Interesting to see your Podangis is potted and growing up. Are you going to keep it that way or invert?

See Podangis thread DC but I'm going to leave it the way it is while I'm in NH. When I take it down to the Keys this fall though both the Podangis and the Aerangis will need to be mounted I think (and both "inverted" so flowers hang down). Maybe even both the Phal's as that seems to be how they do the best for me down there and those I do inverted as well.

Gold Country Orchids
I've ordered from Gold Country Orchids a number of times and have never seen any of these orchids on their web site. Would you please post a link. I would love to order some of these. Thank You!

Looks like you got some awesome stuff! I was debating on the Phal zebrina but went with another speciosa instead. I’ll be posting my order when I get it

He has a limited availability list that you can email him for. The things that he has higher quantities of are listed on the website. He got back to me very quickly about my order (had to jump on the bandwagon and get me a podangis ).

Correct. Setter---was going to PM it to you but don't see how to attach a doc in PM and it won't upload here either for some reason.
If you want to send me a PM with your email address I should be able to send it to you "off forum".

He is a top-notch vendor! I bought some nice Cattleyas from him. His goal with Cattleyas are for ones that bloom more than once a year, fit on a windowsill, and hopefully, will be fragrant.

Alan Koch was the guest speaker at one of our society's meetings last fall. He let us make pre-orders and brought the plants with him from California to Michigan. I got three Phals, all very nice, either in bloom or bud. All are still healthy and doing well. One thing I learned is that he has many more plants than what are listed on his website. I suppose, if there is something someone is interested in, a phone call or an email would be the thing to do to see if he has it.

My (very minor) complaint is that the website is not terribly easy to use if you have decent computer security set up.
When I finally had suppressed things enough to get plants in my cart, it spit the order out when going to the payment vendor.
It was probably a sign that I really didn't need to get more plants 😂
