...I don't know what happened. I was only planning to start with 2 or 3 catasetums... Anyway, the plants from SVO (except the one in the square pot) have one mature growth and one new growth. All very healthy!

That's what happens Jeff. What started as 1 becomes 20 after a short time. In Roberta's case ----- what started as 1 became ...... lost count..... uncountable.

A quality vendor should give you a refund or replacement (tested clean) plant. SVO (the topic of this thread) certainly would... and likely wouldn't have the problem in the first place. (They grow their own plants, mostly from seed, their own crosses and run an outstanding operation, clean and also responsive). IF you have received a virused plant from a vendor who won't communicate, file a complaint with your credit card company (and any intermediary, such as eBay). Too many good vendors out there to put up with garbage from the others.

Nice! What I do with those root machines that are climbing out of the pot, when it isn't the right time to pot (not rooting) is to cut the pot on one side (carefully, since you don't want to accidentally cut good roots), open up the pot a bit (clip the bottom too), and drop the whole thing into a larger pot. That way, roots have a chance to escape into the new pot without disturbing them. There is no need to remove medium, since the bark that they are in is very good. Or, even leave the pot intact, drop the whole thing into a larger pot, or basket - the new growth will climb over the side into the new medium.

Just got my new order. My Cl. rosea and Ctsm. callosum are both one small bulb + one active growth. My Ctsm. osculatum has two small bulbs + two active growths (and 2 tags, wonder what happened there? ).

Hey, maybe you got two plants! (But I got 2 tags on that one also, so guess they stuck together. I have 1 active growth, but also a beginning spike...)

Leafmite: I received these beautiful plants from SVO yesterday. They were in excellent condition. Fat, fat pbulbs. I will only order from SVO in the future!
