Our society is doing Zoom meetings (Greater Akron Orchid Society, Ohio). Some of the other Orchid Societies are, too. Not quite the same but we enjoy seeing each other.
So, I ended up ordering:
Lc. Mini Purple f. coerulea (Lc. Mini Purple f. coerulea 'HandR' 4n x self)
Lc. Mini Love f. coerulea (Lc Love Knot f. coerulea 'HandR' 4n)
SVO Lc. Love Knot 'SVO' HCC/AOS x Lc. Blue Rose 'Dark Blue'
SVO Slc. Sierra Doll 'Little River' x Lc. Mini Purple 'Bonanza' AM/AOS

Did you take photos or a video of the orchids? I'm considering purchasing that special. Two of the orchids I want to order are part of that special but not the other orchids I'm interested in. Debating going with the special or just buying those 2 + the others I want.
Would like to see the plants.

I did not take any pictures of any of these plants, oddly enough! Tomorrow in the light of day I can do so, it looks like the lineup is slightly different than when I ordered. The 7535 and 7542 are subs for the 7260 and 7263 that I got.
Everything else is the same, most were repotted and are doing well. At least 1 new growth on everything some have 2.

Thanks. If you do get a chance I would appreciate the photos. I'm also considering the first special, Breeder's choice, because there are a few I like from that group. I had 7466 and 7092 on my list of plants I want to order so thought maybe the compact special would be the way to go since they are included. However, this evening I realized that I already have 7092.
Do you generally repot your new plants? What medium/media did you use for the Cattleyas?

Here are the 5 that I have that are the same as what you can get with the special.
7082 - 2 new growths on left and right, it seems a little bigger than "compact" lol
7092 - back 2 growths are new, starting to push roots.
7466 - Interesting growth pattern, new growth is tall and skinny so far. Much different than the mature pseudobulb next to it!
7499 - New growth up front, lots of purple spots that haven't changed much from when I got it. Light is very high but hasn't increased the spots.
7526 - Very short plant, kind of messy when I got it. 2 new growths, 1 is hiding under some of the leaves on the left.
It's kind of hit or miss if I repot. If the plant looks ok and not spilling out of it's pot I'll let it go. Some of these had deformed the pots from so many roots and were pretty much crowded. That was the challenge with these, the roots systems are still really good but getting them situated in a new pot is tough when dealing with the square root ball.
I use a mix of small bark, some charcoal, and a little perlite. It dries out pretty quickly, so I can water pretty often (or have the sprinklers do it).

Thanks for the photos and information. 7082 does look large. Description states under 10". I think it will be taller than that. 7526 looks like it could be mini rather than compact.
My 7092 seems to be similar in size to yours. There's a root coming out from the bottom of the pot. Also have some new growth.
Due to my lack of experience I usually get nervous when I repot. I'm never sure when to repot and then think I will stress the plant if I do and I will kill it. I did repot two of my SVO Cattleyas but only did that because I knocked them over and most of the bark fell out of the pot. When I tried to put them back into the original pots I couldn't fit them in. LOL Wound up using pots that were slightly larger with zoo vet bark and pumice. Luckily those two plants have done OK. Now I have orchiata so I can use that for repotting.
Not sure what I'm going to order. I think I'm leaning towards the breeder's choice of the newest hybrids special but want to check the sizes on all of those because I am trying to stay mini/compact. If I don't go with that special I am still going to order the first two in that list, 7184 and 7258, and either 7466 or 7490 ( Sunset Valley Orchids - Superior Hybrids for Orchid Enthusiasts). I wanted something with Trick or Treat in the background but an orchid that would not get as large as Trick or Treat.
Hard for me to decide what to purchase when there are generally no photos of the flowers or plants because they are new hybrids and haven't flowered yet. What do I look for when it comes to parentage...4N, awarded orchids, ??? I read through Fred's descriptions and look at the parentage and then take a good guess. I've purchased his orchids at shows twice and there were sample blooming plants so that was helpful. When I did my first "blind" order I emailed him a list and asked him to choose the top 5 or 6 on that list and then I purchased those.

Yup... I know that he bought a bunch of tubers last year... I am sure that he is working how to grow them to propagate. It may take a few years, but he is definitely working on them.

Having the grower choose is always a good plan.
