Default At what age does a Vanda Bloom?

Got a Vanda that I've been nurturing for about 4 years. It was given to me as a cutting from a mature large sprawling plant. The first year or two it was slow to grow. The last 2 years it has really taken off and is sending out numerous roots, but no blooms. Have increased lighting from E to SE. Just read an article stating Vandas don't mature until approx. 5 yrs. old. Maybe I've being too anxious. Would appreciate any input from experienced Vanda growers. Thank you.

I have around 20 or so and live in the south, with high humidity and bright light. Depending on the parentage I would say from 3-4 years. I can't remember any of mine going 5 years without blooming. What variety is it? I've know some to trash before waiting 5 years but I'm a "hanger-oner". Don't give up hope.

Thank you for responding. I've been trying to research the parentage. The mother plant (Noid) had a very distinctive pinkish, yellow, and peachy orange looking bloom and sort of glowed. The leaves are semi-terete. Found some similar ones that might be part of parentage...Josephine Van Brero and Tan Chay Yan. Included a pic. for you. It's currentyl receiving SE exposure, thorough waterings each day, and fertilizer 1x week.

That plant is very much flowering size. It should have flowered well before this. If it is a true semi-terete it will require a LOT of light to make it flower.

I think lighting is probably my biggest issue. Did have it suspended from an orange tree limb in back yard, but the tree's folliage was too dense. Don't think I was watering or fertilizing enough either. Time to change my ways and see what happens.
