Vanda- Diseased or Just Malnourished? (or both) Female
Default Vanda- Diseased or Just Malnourished? (or both)

Hi everyone,
I purchased a Vanda a few days back and already I'm worried about a few things that's been showing up. I cannot tell if it may have a disease or if is just lacking nutrients (for context, it has been in my home for two days without the best care as I am still figuring out how I will set it up). Online pictures of diseases only seem to kind of match my plant. However, I have no prior experience, so I can't say for sure. Diseased or not, I would like to err on the side of caution (and this is my lesson learned not to buy orchids just because the flowers are pretty :/).

First, let me say that there is very little that you could have done or do to cause a change in a plant in two days, short of maybe freezing it or sunburning it.

The plant basically looks OK to me. That last photo may show a bit of an issue, but it's difficult to say the reason. If that plant was mine, I'd treat with with a good quality probiotic like Inocucor Garden Solution, but I have it handy, and am biased in that direction.

As to the "undernourished" part of your query, please be aware that, while vandaceous plants are considered - correctly or not - to need more food than other orchids, none need a great deal, and adding fertilizer will not improve your culture.

Sometimes plants get dinged and scratched in transit. That's what this looks like to me.
