There are a lot of good threads here on Orchid Board regarding Vandas. Most people starting with Vandas run into trouble because they don't give enough water or don't give enough light.
Vandas need to have their roots moist every day. If grown bare-root they need their roots soaked every day, twice on hot days. In pots people are able to water less often.
With good air circulation most of them can take full sun, with temperatures into the 90s F / 32+C. Good air circulation means a breeze, or a fan blowing on them.
