No question this time but good news from my part. Since joining here on ob I learned a lot about orchids (especialy vanda's). Thnx to your advice so far, the plant has started to grow like a maniac.

Within two weaks the upper leafs have grown about 5 cm's and the plant is starting to get that lightgreen color I see on al your pics. Also root growth has began. Thick juicy roots have started to grow again. So far so good.

Guess all I have to do now is to wait for that magical spike. Every plant here in the room has started making flower buds. Every day I check between the leafs with my fingers crossed to see the ultimate proof that I am doing it right

Loads of light, moist, water and fert. But especialy the light and water did the job. Bought a special growlamp and hung it 6"es away from the plant and now the plant changed into a growing maniac

I found a scientific book about vanda's on google and read it (83 PAGES!!). I found out vandas don't care about daylenght. They care about light only that. The more sunlight they receive, the less of a certain hormone they produce which will eventually lead to flowering. If you keep hitting the plant with light you can expect spikes every two months.

Growing them in the dark also promotes flowering but the plant will grow in slowmotion.

Hahahah good point Ross you really helped me out big time on the light issues.
Too bad the sun is down allready or I would have made some photo's. Its really looking healthy having a purple tinge on one side (not strange considering the light is coming from that direction )

If everything is right all I have to do is wait 2 months.

I also included the picture I found in the scientific article. Maybe it can be usefull.

Woke up this morning and noticed a new leaf developing from the top.
A friend of mine made a superb real life comparison yesterday about vanda's he said: "Vanda's are just like NiMH batteries. You constantly charge them with light and when they are full they will produce flowers. If you stop charging them, they slowly leak away the energy that is needed". That was one of the coolest phrases ive heard in a long time

O and enjoy this What do you guys think

I think your plant looks great! From the looks of things, it seems to be getting everything it needs. I wouldn't be surprised if it bloomed its head off in the next blooming season. I think your plant may even become a 4-6 foot giant.

Not to mention that the lamp you see on the photo is solely for that one plant. Unbelievable how much extra I spend on the extra stuff to get that thing going on. If it blooms Ill get a second vanda and hang it on the oppsite side of the lamp. It looks a little bit sunburned on the other side but Ill think it will be ok. Just went in too fast with the light
