Talking Help with vanda

hello,
I have a question regarding my vanda. I am not sure what type it is but i believe its a rothchildiana or something like that. Anyways, I have had this orchid for a year and cant get it to bloom! i live in south florida in miami, i drench the roots everyday and feed 20X3 every 2weeks. The plant recieves outside light and recieves direct sunlight in the afternoon for about 4 hours.
I would love to know what you guys think. I have sent some pics for your diagnosis!
also please notice the pics of the roots, is this thrips damage??
thank you much in advance
i will try to send pics i have no clue how this works!!

Hmmm, not sure without pics, but I am going to bump this to the top in hopes someone else can help you. Even if it's just the instructions on posting pics. Good luck.

If you want to email the pics, I can upload them for you... ocelaris at g mail dot com (fill in the correct @ and no spaces etc...)

I don't know how other people do it, but I have an account with photobucket.com , it's free. I upload the photos there, and they have links once you upload them for forums, it's a web address format. But you have to have them hosted somewhere first, unless it's on this site... which I am not sure ho it's done?

*edit* when you post, you can "manage attachments" and there is where I assume you would select the files from your computer. But they can not be larger than 1024x768 assuming they are JPGs. Cheers

If you've been taking good care of it, I think the problem isn't cultural. It's probably not blooming time for the plant yet. That, or it's still very young.

It should look a little something like this:

Help with vanda
Default Thanks to all

Sorry with the problems in uploading my pics. I realized the prob was the pics are to big. I will try to work on this and get them to you.
As for the age of the plant I am not sure, but my roots are about 4and a half feet long with the plant it self being aBOUT 2 AND A HALF FEET LONG, AND 2 FEET WIDE MAybe this helps? I hope anyways.
Can anyone send me a pic of what thrips damage looks like on the roots? that would help tremendously although I dont think thrips would keep the plant from blooming, I dont know.
Once again thanks to all of you

It sounds like a 'vanda tree'. I hope you can take a picture of the whole plant for us.

Yeah, that is huge! My new Vanda enclosure is only 4 feet tall total! Yikes! But I plan to do some significant bonsai work with the roots to keep them in check... now how to "gently" coax them from going rampant?

Right now the roots on my Princess Mikasas (2) are about 3 months since I got them, and their roots are like 6" and they point Straight out, a few go down, but they're just aiming in every which way. Maybe if they had a structure they would stick to that instead? The plants can't naturally just hang out in the air can they? Do they attach to bark like Phals, Catts etc... ?
