Default Rhynchostylis coelestis

Only one spike this year (the second blasted!) on this very blue Rhyncho coelestis.

That's awesome, Mauro! Do you have any more Rhynchostylis species? I've got a gigantea var. alba that's currently in bloom and smells fantastic, and a retusa that (hopefully) should be producing a spike or two sometime in May or June. I don't have coelestis, but if I continue to stare at the pictures of your plant's flowers for much longer, I might have to find out how much damage I can do to my credit card this week. Thanks for posting your pictures!

Steve

Steve, I also grow R. retusa, gigantea alba, gigantea red, gigantea semi-alba and two or three other gigantea differently spotted. Man, I know what you mean; if we let them take control orchids can really deplete our pockets !

Nice! I'm surprised it bloomed so early, it's not even rhyncho season yet...

Hi,
Mauro is from the south hemisphere and now it's summer there.
In Taiwan, the species usually bloom in July to early September and these months are also the hotest period in a year.
