Renanthera coccinea
Typical monopodial, creeping orchid, this species can reach 8-10 feet in height. I divided mine and now have two pieces of more or less 4 feet each. João de Loureiro, a Portuguese Jesuit Missionary who lived in China and Conchinchina (Vietnam) between the years of 1738 and 1780, described this species and also several other genera native of that part of the world.
My plants are grown in full sun, outside of the grh.
