This is a plant that I obtained last year from Carmela Orchids on the Big Island of Hawaii. I found the plant to be a difficult grower. I'm happy that the plant is surviving and blooming. It is growing on a thin slab of hapuu and kept moist.

Bright and beautiful flowers....I have these and they are happily thriving....you need not worry because your atmosphere has high humidity and they love the sunlight in your area. Just don't forget to spritz them once in a while ....the roots are starting to shrivel.

Good growing. It is not an easy plant to grow.

Thanks Bud. You are correct about the roots. I'm struggling to keep them healthy. I water the plant daily. My understanding is that this plant does not like to be grown in pots. How are you growing yours and what media are you using?

Mine dried out once. Then came a months-long, lingering death, punctuated occasionally by false hope of new leaf or root growth.

I also have this plant from Carmela's. I have it growing in a flat saucer but it is not very happy. Alive but not real well! Think I've had one flower. Guess I should try moving it to a different location.

Mine was growing well so long as I watered it daily and fertilized it regularly. It put out new leaves and roots. I went away for a week and it got blown away from the spray system. I don't know how long it went without water, but it could have been a week.
