Aranthera Chao Praya Fire
Registered by Chao Praya Orchid Nursery Ltd. 11-17-2008
Seed parent= Renanthera Kalsom
Pollen parent =Aranthera James Storie
I use a mixture of coconut husk, wood shavings, charcoal and clay balls as the growing media. Usually these orchids are grown from the ground as these can reach a height of 3 to 4 ft. in full maturity. My plant is merely a seedling. I use organic additive blends (neem cake and karanja cake blends) in my potting mixture to avoid root rot and other problems. My culture, every morning watering regimen and provide it with partial sun then gradually to total sun just like I do to all Vandaceous cultivars of Arachnis, Aranthera, Renanthera, Renenthopsis, Aranda and Mokara. Most of these families are large specimens growing to heights of 10 ft. and above and must need support all the way to the top. Flowers occur almost at every leaf node axil in opposite and flowers may usually reach above 3 ft. in length. Aranthera orchids like full exposure to sun to achieve prolific flowering and these orchids can withstand severe stress conditions but try to avoid exposing these plants to frost. A good fertilizer feeding every other week helps them maintain their vigor and be happy and healthy.

What a cute small plant with large flowers. The Kalsom parent looks dominant in this breeding.
