Asctm. Mona Church
Ascocentrum miniatum x ampullaceum
I have a still tiny one I got as a freebie a while back then saw the flowers IRL last year so picked up a BS one. One year later, the freebie one is still tiny but the BS one finally bloomed.

The pic doesn't do the color justice. It is more a watery color.

I want one of these. I think I saw one last May when I was at Fantasy orchids and it was so cute in real life. I think this is one where a picture doesn't do it Justis.
How warm do you keep it? I wonder if my house would get to cold in the winter at times.

Thanks for looking!
Shannon, generally my apartment is intermediate. The window that it sits in probably dropped to the mid 50's a couple/few times overnight. During the summer, it got to the high 80's a couple/few times*. I think a window will be ok in Wyoming 3/4 of the year and move it under a light for the winter? It doesn't need as much light as other Vandaceous plants, this one flowered at the lower end of catt light (white washed east window).

I have seedlings of ampullaceum and ampullaceum x garayi, which is a lot like miniatum. They did fine with a minimum of 50 F / 10C this past winter. It was usually at least in the upper 70s F / 25C in the day. I think it is generally recommended not to let Vandas go below 50 F / 10C.

Lovely!
I have a quite small one myself - I have no idea how far off from bloom size it may be, nor what I am doing with it But, I haven't killed it in the 2.5 years I've had it, so that's something, I guess

I had to make a choice at the Amherst Orchid Society sale and show between an Ascocentrum and the Den nobile that I got. I wish I could have gotten both
I want one.
