I think we have a spike here :-)

Can you see it? Tiny little brown thing in the center of the picture.
IOSPE says it blooms in late winter to spring. I moved the plant outside from the basement so the average temps where slightly higher for the last three weeks. That's maybe the reason why it (hopefully) blooms in summer.

IOSPE also says it grows cold to cool.
Temps in my basement are in the high 70ies, temps outside in the high 80ies. So I think it's quite adaptable to higher temps than it got in nature.

It hangs in a tree. Full sun from 8am to noon. Got watered every day when not raining.

I'll keep you updated

I have 6-8 species of Holcoglossum, but not this one. I find two different flower photos under this name, please post a photo when yours blooms.

I also have an amesianum and a wangii. No problems with both so far.

Still waiting for the bloom.
The spike is growing very slow but finally there's a bud forming.

It is still outside. The sun isn't so strong anymore so I hung it brighter. Full sun from 11am to 5pm
Temps are around 45-55 night / 55-65 day
Humidity 80-100% night / 60-80% day

The bud blasted unfortunately.
I think it got too cold before I moved the plant back in. 45-50F was ok for the plant but not for the bud ...

Anyway... I noticed a new spike yesterday.
Hope it will make it this time 😀

Bad thing : the spike died
Good thing : there is a new one emerging. Cross fingers for the third attempt.
