Motes Orchids
I have admired Martin Motes breeding of mini/compact Vandaceous plants for years. However, you had to go to FL to buy them.
Just discovered that Motes has a web site now, so I have a box with 15 seedlings ready to be unpacked today.

Motes Orchids
Congratulations! Motes Orchids is a fantastic place! I "found" their website this past November, but waited until April this year to order--due to weather. I got four hybrids. Very healthy. One of them was Hiroshima Choice, and it is already growing a flower spike.
Fifteen?

I was lucky enough to attend a talk by him and his wife here in the UK. I picked up four hybrids. Small, bu healthy, supposedly should be blooming in 2/3 years, but I reckon that's Florida conditions. I'm thinking at least 5 years. It's going to be a long wait.

Yeah, his place in Homestead is a very good location for growing orchids. That area is called the Redlands and it's got a ton of orchid growers.

Martin Motes has explored different directions in breeding for years, but his plants are hard to come by unless you go to FL, or he comes to your society to speak.
Plants received are in good condition. One of the Hiroshima Choice arrived in spike.

Motes Orchids
Their son Bart, I think, is responsible for getting the website up and running. He posts regularly on the Vanadaceous Alliance Facebook page.
