Vanda (Paki x Bill Burke), 1st bloom seedling Male
Default Vanda (Paki x Bill Burke), 1st bloom seedling

This is a Carter & Holmes hybrid. V Paki = cristata x tricolor, while V Bill Burke = cristata x denisoniana, so it is 50% cristata.

That creates a compact plant, which will do well under cool to intermediate conditions. I have bloomed 3 or 4 of these, all had 2 flowers on the spike, and the distinct V cristata lip.

I hope that the count will go up, but with the plant being 50% cristata, the flower count will never be high. On the other hand, I expect that mature plants will set multiple spikes (my barely mature V cristata threw 5 spikes this spring).

And, I have forgotten to check for fragrance, which it should have.
