I got it on 2/19/15. It came very healthy from RForchids.com with snails.
I took care of the snails and soaked it daily and fertilized 2 or 3 times a month.
On 4/27/15 I discovered the first flower spike.
I don't know if i've had it long enough to have an opinion on the speed of growth but, the flower spikes seem to be progressing a lot faster then my Rhynchostylis retusa.
Here is an update on my spikes.
They are definitely progressing much faster then some of my other vandaceous orchids.
Can't wait to see these flowers in person!
First flowers finally opened!! !! This one bloomed a lot faster then my retusa.
The tips of the spikes blasted so they're pretty short. Maybe i wasn't giving it enough water??
No fragrance as of yet.
I had it hanging in my kitchen for awhile which was around 50% humidity ( I'm sure some days are lower) and I soak it daily.
I moved it to my indoor greenhouse once it was finished being build but the humidity in there lingers at around the same, 50% ( right after I water in the morning my indoor greenhouse can get up to 75% humidity for a few hours).
I give it bright light. As much as possible without burning the leaves.
