Vanda Lamellata v. Boxalii
Good Morning Everybody,
I have a small greenhouse in California and I have been growing batches of Vandas for the last two years. I always break down and add in any cool species or primary hybrids I can get my hands on when I bring in a shipment of plants.
V. Llamelata v. Boxalii is one of my favorites.
Temperature tolerant (A few 50F nights), super easy to grow, no fungal issues (Yeah, I'm looking at you V. Brunnea x V. Insignis), and very odd but satisfying feeling of watching episodes of Robotech as a kid.
Enjoy.

Beautiful flower.... please post pictures when both the two spikes opens its blooms. It must be very fragrant in that area. The plant is healthy and robust with very clean leaves....

I'll snap a photo in full bloom for you.
Oddly, no fragrance coming from either of my boxalii plants :S

Those are fantastic. And I agree with you that it's an easy, trouble-free species. Are the blooms of your plant fragrant? I can sometimes smell a slight whiff of perfume on mine, but only in the early morning hours--and only if the plant's been sitting in direct sunlight for a few hours. Congratulations on your blooms.
