Three new baby vandas-How should I take care of them
Default Three new baby vandas-How should I take care of them

I bought three baby vandas at the Fort Lauderdale show this past weekend. I know nothing about vandas. They were 3 for $10 and just laying in trays. I picked out the healthiest ones I could find. Right now I have them hanging bare rooted near a south facing window out of direct sunlight. I have been soaking them for a few minutes each day in rain water. What else should I do with them to help them grow to mature plants?

Keep them in a very bright area with a couple hours of direct sunlight, water everyday and a high nitrogen fertilizer. Temps should be intermediate to warm but more on the warm side and they should take off. Goodluck!

Thanks hanzy08 I will be putting them outside in a few weeks when the weather stays warmer. Do you have any idea how old they are or how long it will take them to bloom?

I would say 3 years old. Give them a couple more years and they should bloom for you.
