The spotted version blooms these days. In recent years, the species is 'hot' here and many seedlings are available.

Rhynchostylis and Aerides are my favourites of the vanda group. But I have struggle with them, but I think I am slowly winning with them, by offering warmer wetter conditions.
Love the spotted gigantea.
Thank you for sharing.

Hello Pheli, how cold does it get in Taiwan before you start move the plants to a warmer place?

It can get quite cold in Africa too, especial early winter mornings. If temp get 10C ore below, I more them indoors. How cold does it get in Taiwan during winter months?

It is about 6-10'c inthe eraly morning but at noon it may reach 18-20'c recently. When the cold front hit, we did not have high noon tenperature and it would 8-12'c averagely.
But in south Taiwan, the cold front seldom reach and it has good temperature for plant to grow.
I do not have greenhouse for my plants there i move such cold sensitive plant to south side when the first cold front hit in early winter, which may be as low as 12-14'c.
Here is the data of today observed at the weather station near my site.

A white form of a friend. There were some red residual spots on it.
