Renanthera monachica
Ironic...I am also trying to get more Renanthera species plants. I have what seems to be the three most readily available: imshootiana, monachica, and this citrinia. I almost got a philippinensis and a vietnamensis but both plants were really small AND expensive.
Mine are growing with other Vanda--warm, humid, and bright light--"Cattleya" light. July through September is monsoon season so they can be watered a lot. But as winter sets in, I water them sparingly, allowing them to completely dry out. Winter temperatures should go no lower than 50F day and night. Relative humidity should be above 60%. What I'm describing reads like these would be difficult to grow, but for me, they are easier to grow than Cattleya.
These three Renanthera are often hybridized with Neofinetia to create more colorful flowers.
