I agree with this. If the plant is being watered everyday and its roots are in coconut husk, I believe that it is being over watered. If it is bare root then watering every day is necessary.

Thank you for your for responses. I generally check out the condition of the vanda before watering. It remains generally dry in the mornings. That's when I mist.

I dunked then in the water today morning and interior then for sometime. Will check them again tomorrow morning and then decide. If it's dry, then only I'll water them. Maybe some misting. And then again another dunk the next day.

Will look towards striking a balance.

And, another thing, I've set up the roots u=in such a way that they DO NOT remain buried inside the potting medium (husk, peat or anything). They help retain the water a bit and keeps the whole medium cool. They become totally dry in the mornings, when I water them. Plus, the pot is completely porous and shed away any excess water instantly.

Keeping my fingers crossed, and hoping for the best.

I really hope that everything is all right. Will post some photos after a few days! Will fertilize them soon. Is it okay to feed them every 2-3 days? I just mist them with liquid solution of NPK (20-20-20) and some sea weed extract.

Thanks again to everyone.

I've never fed them that way so I'm not sure. I feed once a week at half strength and occasionally give the. seaweed. I soak the roots with it.

Oh. I've always fed them this way. They do well so far. Never dunked them and fed them that way. Will try that.

If spraying the fertilizer on works, there's nothing wrong with that. A lot of people do it I think. If the plant it really large, I soak the roots for a while in water first, then pour fertilizer over them. It works fine and they bloom well this way. Every once in a while I soak them with fertilizer and seaweed, even though it uses a lot of fertilizer. If they are in vases, then I fill the vase with fertilizer and water and soak.

New roots. These photos include the 2 shown earlier and another vanda, which was bought the same time as the others. The new roots from the yellowing plant are coming out pretty ok. The other roots are coming on nicely as well. Let me know what you guys think!
