Default V. ampullacea 'Round'

Here's my V. ampullacea 'Round'

If you look closely you'll note that it has 9 spikes.

One or two are hidden behind others and a couple a far shorter than the top ones.

It gets high light and high humidity. gets a sokid water every morning and on the hot days gets a 2nd water.

Fertilised twice a week at half strength.

Enjoy!

Of course you get lots of sun. It must be a good place to grow Vandas.

Yeah sunlight isn't much of a problem here. Vandas do very well but must keep up the water, particularly this time of year. My green house goes through about 200 litres of water a day.

The wet season won't start until end January or February at which time I can turn off the watering almost completely.

We have dry, sunny summers and I have some of mine in baskets with lava rock, coconut chips or sphag, which makes it so I usually only need to water twice a week during the summer but I mist daily. I also have 2 in vases. Our winters are very dark but with lots of humidity, so I have to be careful not to over water. I'm finding that they really love lava rock.

Do you use 2 different fertilizers or 1 all rounder?
