Haraella rectrocalla
I know many people wrote they have a hard time with this little guy, but for me it seems they love anything and everything I do to them. Really one of the easiest growing miniatures, likes high humidity but not constantly moist, letting it slightly dry in between waterings, low fertilizing, low light works for my plants, they are in spike pretty much the whole year with maybe few months of break.

Beautiful!!! It is the sort of plant that seems to be either stupidly easy to go for one category of people, and impossible to keep for others. I just can't keep them alive more than a year. This time I'm trying a method that works successfully for Rosie, who has similar climate/conditions as I do. fingers crossed that I can finnaly grow it like this!

Gorgeous!
Mine is still doing well Camille, it's in flower again just now. Mine does seem to like pretty low light. I'm growing it on the brighter side of the house but with the mount facing the window and the plant facing into the room. It prefers that to growing on the lower light side of the house and facing the window.

Camille, you are right! So many has a hard time, but mine are just growing with no care at all. I do find the one that is mounted on driftwood and dries out between waterings doing MUCH better than the one mounted on the hygrolon cylinder. I do assume that it likes to be more under watered than to be kept moist at all times.

Carrie, grow it mounted, very little or no moss!!! As Rosie said, LOW LIGHT, this plant on the picture is mounted, dries out between every watering, and has the lowest light, and is in spike pretty much the whole year. Other plants mounted on hygrolon kept moist and wit LED lights do bloom few times a year, but not as often as this one! Also very low fertilizing.

Thanks Tommy. Mine has moss - I'll think I'll pick some off! I mounted it - so we know who is "learning"
As I suspected it was probably too wet! I keep it in a small table top greenhouse (my micro-climate for warmer temps). Maybe I'll increase its air exposure. Will it be OK to about 60 F at night?

Yes Carrie, this is warm to cool growing species, it can take 60. I have it outside all the time up to 55F. Try to let it more dry between watering, It does not need strong air movement, just less moss, or no moss, and letting the roots dry out.

Today, I ordered a Haraella odorata (syn.retrocallus ) from Andy's Orchids which is having an amazing sale this weekend (20% off). It was less than $10.
Just in case my "sick" one doesn't make it.

Very pretty! Your climate must be just what it likes!
One of mine came from Andy's, too.
