Cultural tips for vanda ustii needed
I've tried looking online for the care requirements my vanda ustii needs but I can't seem to really find anything. It did nothing for several months except slowly drop it's bottom 3 leaves until I switched it to vase culture about a month and a half ago. Now it's got a new root started so I have a little bit of hope but I'm afraid my growing condition may be too cold. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know anything about growing vanda, but if you think cold is the issue.
Try a small stand of christmas lights in its vicinity.
I used to use them to keep more tender plants alive during harsher winters. They do a good job of warming an immediate area.

Thanks for the tip!
I never would have thought of it...
Temps inside this time a year are around 63-65 degrees (cool enough for my Christmas cactus to bud...)

It's a colour variety of V. luzonica, and you should be able to find lots on that. Essentially, warm but not too hot and wet throughout the year. Obligate epiphyte, like to trail its roots and dies quickly in a closed pot.

Well, I don't have a Vanda ustii but I do have a Vanda Luzonica. If it has Luzonica in it, mine has gotten into the low 50s and been fine. I don't think 60-65 is too cold for a Vanda. Most are warm growing but you won't get damage from that temp. I haven't bloomed mine yet though.

ustii is an Immaculata var. of vanda luzonica.
Although some says that ustii and luzonica cultural tips are same but for me ustii is easier to grow and bloom. I think it's safe for me to say that ustii is a free flowering species (my ustii blooms whenever it wants to unlike sanderiana that blooms usually July till October)
Sorry for my bad english.

It's my understanding that whilst ustii has been exported under the tags of luzonica or luzonica var. Immaculata that this is incorrect. It is its own species and was scientifically described as such in 2000. It is also referred to as ust's vanda and was so named to honour the University of Santo Tomas.

That's my understanding as well based on the little bit of info I have been able to find. I'm not very adept at finding things online though so if anyone could help me with search suggestions or links I'd be extremely grateful
