The spike managed to survive a house move. It has a nice 'grape soda' smell in the morning. I grow it in a vase watering once per week, filling the vase with water and fertilizing every other week.

Beautiful. I'm glad it survived the move! Mine just went out of bloom. It grows in a plastic open weave basket under 50% shadecloth outdoors with my vandas and blooms annually. Love it.

Two years since I last posted about this plant. This time it has three spikes (two in bloom at the moment).

Thank you! I've learned a lot about vase culture from you.

It works for me, glad it is working for you too. I spy some Motes plants, I was lucky enough to meet him last year at my local OS and purchase four young plants off him. I can't wait until they bloom, although I reckon it will be another three or four years.

Great progression over the years. Amazing blooms too.
