Mokara Chao Praya Boy 'Blue Boy' & Vanda_Sawanan_Pink

Hi All, a few vanda orchids comming into flower;
Mokara Chao Praya Boy 'Blue Boy' which has 14 flowers + a small branched in the inflorescens with more buds,



This vanda turns a rich blue when fully open & reflowers several times a year, This flower has only just opened & one of the flowers is actually a double flower ie two flowers fused to gether.
The true colour has not yet developed hence it appears purple.


Vanda_Sawanan_Pink, got this vanda as a gift replacement from one of my orchid suppliers, as a previous vandas developed a virus which caused flower drop & foliage leisions.



This Vanda is surposed to produce 5inch dia. flowers though as these have only just opened am not sure if this will be the case.

From images of this plant on the web the colour is surposed to be much darker pink?

Both are beautiful. I find the blooms of my 1 Vanda seem to grow for a while after opening.

Thank you all for the comments, yes Silken these flowers have a long while go go before the full potential from past experience.

Will look for an earlier image of Boy 'Blue" & add to post to show colour etc., cheers allan

Hi orchidsarefun that is a seedling Zygopetalum which flowered for the first time this last winter, I liked it.
