Vanda tricolor is endemic to Indonesia, Java especially ( although Bali also has them). This particular plant seemed to be a type from West Java. West Java has the most variation of Vanda tricolor in term of base colour, the size of pattern, the degree of ruffle-ness and shapes (even the alba/flavum/aureum form by far only been discovered in the West Java population); while eastward you go, the more uniformed the flower is
