this is yet another first bloomer, with two spikes, i bought this seedling thinking it will take several years to bloom, well this guys likes to bloom at a very small size.

they do have far larger flowers than those of aerides odorata. houlletiana do have a fascinating color on them.

Aerides are a very interesting species. They aren't very floriferous but when they do flower they FLOWER!
These are the best orchids to be naturalized into your trees that offer good shade and enough filtered light.
Some years its won't bloom at all. I have heard some growers suggest when they flower it is a sign of lots of rains to come in the year.

Beautiful! I have a rhynchorides seedling that is growing like a weed. I'm hoping that it flowers young like aerides does.
