The plants bloom implies the coming of summer.

My dad had several, but at 56 deg N (in Denmark), they just did not get enough light to bloom - despite the long days in summer.

I live close to NYC (= 40 deg N). Not sure whether they will bloom here.

I am located at about 24 deg N. These plants are easily grown and bloom outdoors.

I am at about 34 deg. north here. Last year, I received a division about 16 inches long of one of these, from one of the members here, http://www.orchidboard.com/community.../kevin_pr.html (Thanks again Kevin!)

It is now outdoors in a place that gets the most sunlight that my orchid bench receives. So far, so good, but it is growing somewhat slowly (I have it attached/tied/mounted to a section of grape vine wood at the moment). I try to spray it at least a couple times each day.

I am just hoping for some growth this year - not expecting blooms quite yet. Maybe in a year or two? I hope it is able to get enough light. In winter, my only option is a west-facing window, or my fluorescent lights indoors.

Great flowers. I've managed to kill two of these, so I will just enjoy the photos of your flowers rather than acquiring another plant to torture.
