Where to buy young Vandaceous online??

hello all,

In the market for some young vanda/hybrids NBS or younger. Been all over the internet. Ran into this place called orchid diffusion. They look a little sketchy though.

Anyone know the best place online to look for a regular joe like myself?

Carmela's orchids in Hawaii sometimes has great packages on vandas, but even if they don't have a package deal going on, their prices are still good. I have always received healthy and well packaged plants from Carmela's.

I keep a watch for R.F. Orchids (in Florida) vanda seedling special. Their crosses are interesting and their plants are healthy.

I know Kalapana Tropicals in Hawaii also has some vandas and mokaras at reasonable prices, but I haven't personally purchased from them.

They aren't seedlings but Kawamoto (in Hawaii) usually has some nice looking vandaceous (plus a lot of others!)...

Smiley's Orchids is well known for vandas. I haven't bought from them but several of my friends have purchased excellent plants from them. RF Orchids is one of the "go to" vendors in my area for vandas but they tend to have higher prices than the other growers.

Keep in mind that true vandas usually bloom once a year. Ascocendas often bloom several times a year. There are some exceptions like V. Pachara Delight which blooms often. Growers often use the term 'vanda' when talking about either vandas or ascocendas.

That Orchid Diffusion (from France iirc) on ebay is known for selling stuff other than those that is shown on the advertised pics. Be careful
