Default Vanda denisoniana pollen parent Phal Bellina pod parent

Hello People,

I have just made a cross between V. denisoniana and P. bellina. Ive checked out that both plants are diploid(2n=38), so the cross should produce viable progeny.

Has anyone ever come across such a hybrid?

If so, could you show a pic of it?

If not, could you comment on what would the progeny look and smell like?

TIA!!

Eugene

the cross is genetically possible - new genus would be Vandaenopsis [Vdnps.] and there are 74 members. Your cross hasn't been done before, though you can check current info at the RHS website.
However bellina is not very fertile - hopefully you will have good luck.
