I always thought they needed a lot of light and assumed they would require MH lighting in order to be grown indoors.
I have to provide supplemental light for my phals and oncidiums (I just use a CFL bulb in a desk lamp and that works great for my plants.) I would LOVE to be set straight on this if my thoughts were wrong. I love vandas.

You guys are evil. You're going to make a monster out of me. I've just managed to get myself set up with some extra space for more orchids... I'm planning to put in t5s as soon as I figure out how much I need and what I'm growing (I was going to keep it small and stick to a few mini catts) and here you all go corrupting me with these gorgeous plants! LOL!
Clearly, I need to do some more reading.

Definitely one of my favourites! As a mature plant this can put on an exceptional show, much like its parent species and tends to keiki often too.
Lovely rich colour and substance in the flowers.

Does anyone have experience growing this one with a cooler winter? I'd love to try one like this.

I agree with Vanda lover, you don't need to live in Florida to grow these. My Su-Fun Beauty is currently in bloom here in Michigan with 16 flowers and 3 buds on one spike and it blooms 3 times/yr. I consider it easy to grow and bloom. Try one!

Silken, what do you consider a cooler winter? My winter night temperatures run about 14.5C.
