Default vanda pachara delight frayed leaf tips

I have a vanda pachara delight that as the new leaf emerges the tips look like they have been chewed on. I have searched for the cause and can not find anything. I've also noticed the same thing on another Vanda that is also growing next to it in a basket.

Is this common?

Both plants are in hanging baskets without soil and they have been misted daily in the morning with rainwater to the point of runoff. Roots turn green for about one hour. Night temps drop to 59 and day temps range from 65 to 90. Both are in bright light and have light to medium leaf color. I don't think there are any pests at least I can't see any. I have owned the Pachara Delight for 3 months and it has produced 3 new leaves and all have this frayed tip.

I agree, it's perfectly normal. The leaf tips on most of my vandas look like that. I've always wondered why they grow like that. I'v never heard good explanation.

This is normal for leaves to appear this way. It is simply the type of leaves each specie or hybrid carries. For example you can identify certain species by just the leaves and how they grow and develop and the tips all vary from bilobed to elliptic to emarginate to obtuse or obovate.
