There are a few whole Foods in Manhattan, but I have only seen them offered at only one.
I have never seen their Vandas sold. I remember visiting the store a few times over the course of a few weeks. All five (yellow, blue, pink like yours, white, and dark dark purple) were dry and looked terrible, and each time I went to the store, they looked worse and worse.
They really need quality control, especially when plants are like $59, no one will buy half dead looking plant. lol
With that said, One or two stores at flower district here also sell Vanda hybrids, and they seem to have it almost year around. Well, they charge $79-100. The quality is different every time I visit, but I have yet to see something that looks fresh like yours.
The only time I ever bought vanda was from a local store, looked nice with two spikes loaded with flowers, and it was $60. I thought great and brought it home. Mikasa Princess White.

The flower shop at my workplace has a very strict quality control cause they have their own greenhouse so they usually just send them back instead of dumping it and that's what i like about it. Vandas always fascinated me from when even when i was young. It's their wild look and unique quality of their flowers i guess.. And if i see half dead looking vandas at wholefoods, i will probably buy one lol

You should go and see the vandas sold at the airport in Thailand. You will die!!!!!

I grew up in the Philippines and I used to ride my bike past this house owned by a vanda collector. She has probably 200 of them on tree trunks about 5 ft in height each with 5-6 plants attached to it and most of them were blooming! She had sanderianas with 3 spikes loaded with flowers, robert's delight, ascocendas and terete vandas! it was crazy it looked like a vanda farm lol! i miss that house.. Yea they do get big and are pretty high maintenance to keep indoors but they are very rewarding and has one of the most beautiful when in flower in my opinion.

What a treat for the eyes!
Lucky you!
I confess, I just ordered a seedling Rhynchostylis gigantea (red). I have been admiring pictures of these for the past seven or eight years and I finally broke. I know I will probably regret it in seven or eight years when it is no longer a seedling but I am certainly not going to regret those flowers. They only last a few weeks, even! Oh, I am soooo bad.

LOL we are on the same boat. I have been wanting vandas for 2 years now but didn't think i had the right conditions when it comes to light and space but!! I told myself I'm gonna make it work so I told the vendors that I ordered from to send me the smallest blooming size they have lol and they did! Once it gets warm and sunny here in the east coast, they will go outside until probably late october. I currently have three true vandas. A pachara delight 'sakate' FCC/JOGA, V. Coerulea and a NOid that looks a lot like ascda. princess mikasa 'pink' which is this one.

I just moved her into a shorter vase cause the original vase made her look like she was stuck in there. I like this look better.
