Talking Vanda culture?

I had recently bought a vanda and repotted it into a teak basket. It is suffering as it is having some sort of shock.

I water it every two to three days and the bottom leaves had started to turn yellow and fall off. There is two keikis on the bottom but are fine so far. The plant is wrinkled to a light degree.

I have it in bright light and good air movement but the roots are not the best.

How do you grow your vandas?

What culture do they like?

Any advice that you discovered that worked for you would be greatly appreciated.

I started with vanda's in August- I have mine in clay pots with open medium of corks, and charcoal/lava rock mix. I had one in vase culture but the pots work better for me. Inside the pot they also are in their plastic basket so I may hang them this summer. I put a little sphagnum on top this winter to keep moisture/humidity. I water/mist when dry every few days and they have been doing well. I fertilize about every other watering.

My vandas are in open wood baskets with no media. I water them every day. It doesn't hurt to miss a day or two once in a while. Vandas continue to grow all year so I fertilize once a week all year long. I use a light dose of fertilizer during the winter and a pretty strong dose during the summer.

I got my first 2 vandas last fall. I grow them in vases at the moment. They get filled with water every day and soak for 15 minutes to a half hour. They get South and west window Sun until it's nice enough to put them out for the season. I put some deluted orchid food in the water about once a week.

I think humidity is low at where the orchid is kept.
Wrinkled leaves - may need to water daily and also to compensate for low humidity

I am at the equator. We have some sort of drought right now at the Malaya Peninsular. It has not rained for close to 2 months now. I drench twice (thrice when I'm home) daily.

Agreed, I do the same, although I use water-release fertilizer in a pantihose bag so that whenever it rains or gets watered in some form it gets fertlizer. It's worked out for me so far.
