Well I'm not gonna call you crazy; I can understand why you might think so to a degree. But no, it's not a Vanda phal cross.

I attended an orchid show on the weekend and one of my purchases was a Vanda Miss Joacuim.

Being new to orchids I have a few Vanda's and they seem to do ok for me. Now I have one more.

Currently I have it in full sun and its about 3 foot tall, from what I understand I have a way to go before it will flower.

Anyway yours looks great.

They can actually start blooming at close to 4 feet. As for the the sun, full sun is fine if it already has lots of roots. The general rule for these types is that once they have outgrown their anchor and freely sway in the cross breeze at the peak of the leaves that is their trigger to start flowering. Once they start it's hard to stop them really.

Wow! That is so cool. Maybe I can get my friend's teres to bloom now that I know about the swaying requirement. Thanks!
