Vanda (Neofinetia) falcata X Rhynchostylis gigantea
I got this one in June, 2012 from CalOrchids at the San Jose Orchid Expo. It spiked a few months later, but after growing in small fits for a few months, the spike died before getting very big.
It spiked again around the same time (late summer /early fall) last year, 2 spikes this time, again growing in small spurts for a few months, but this time finally kicked in into gear a couple of months ago. And - a couple of weeks ago I spotted another spike starting!
Potted in medium fir bark mix, 3" plastic pot. Watered when nearly dry or dry. In summer it takes a few hours of afternoon sun; this time of year maybe a couple hours.
Eleven blooms (a few are hiding in the back) - just over 1". Leaf span is about 7 1/2". Total height of plant (including the pot) is also about 7 1/2".
It has a very subtle fragrance I can only describe as pleasant. "green" and very clean smelling (not floral nor spicy).
Thanks for looking
