I'm particularly proud of this one. I got it awarded last weekend at a judging and now it has been registered with my own clonal name 'O.C's Indigo'!
The funny thing is that I did not even know they were doing judging at the orchid society meeting, but I usually bring orchids I have in bloom to show in the meetings. So i decided to enter this one and whatdya know; it got awarded.
It had 28 flowers & 11 buds on a single erect spike that displayed nicely from all sides.
Their description was:
"Sepals and petals light violet heavily tesselated dark violet; lip deep violet, outer lobe deep purple, column violet: substance firm; texture crystalline."
I have a photo that they took to be submitted and I took some after I got the plant back after they did all the measuring of blooms etc. It was heavily stressed but some water and fertilizer helped and so the display was I photographed couple days ago really doesn't do it justice now. hehe
