Evening
I decided to be brave and I ordered 2 young vanda plants from a orchid specialist in europe.
I ordered one of each of the above.
They arrived today, beautifully packaged. Well wrapped and protected.
I instantly put their roots in tepid water with some feed and left them to soak and acclimatise for a while.
After lots of reading I decided to pot them for now in bark. Im not sure whether this is tne the right thing to do as have never had a young Vanda before. I only have a mature ascocenda (in vase culture)But I found lots of references to vandas being potted.
The roots on the Mokara Golden Nugget were really quite long and thin, so I carefully wound them in the pot before filling with bark. The Rhynchorides Dragon Charmy roots we much shorter but thicker.
Both now potted and sat on the same windowsill as my Ascocenda.
If anyone has any advice regarding my new babies I would appreciate some comments.
Mokara golden nugget has little slender leaves and Rhynchorides Dragon Charmy has chunky leaves.
