Rnst. Bangkok Beauty Dbl Spike
This plant has just taken off....twas a gift and probably my favourite renanthera hybrid of all (my lion's splendor hasn't bloomed yet so this is true for now). It has really grown quickly spiking as soon as I got it, the photos of which I have posted in the threads a couple months ago. Immediately after fading, it sent out a dbl spike! It really is the most beautiful spray of vibrant red flowers. I'm very excited because the more mature this cross gets the bigger the spikes, the more spikes at a time and the greater tendency for spikes to branch; this means plenty of flowers.
Had to bring it inside for the weekend to put on display in my living room. Enjoy!

Very nice! Good growing! I've wanted to try those, not sure how they'd do here though, since I keep mine outdoors year-round.

I have mine outside year round in the greenhouse getting 50% direct sunlight. How cold does it get in San Diego in the winters? I don't find them to be overly fussy.

We get into the lower 40s where I live from time to time, though most of the winter the lows are in the 50s. We can get up to 100 in summer, but usually more in the upper 80s to low 90s in my area, with nights in the 60s. Do you think that would work?

I think that will be fine. The most important thing is that you give it as much hours of light as possible and you will get it going and sending out massive thick roots. Let me warn you, these guys get massive! and the leaves are very thick, rigid and leathery and get quite wide.
