Thanks you! It isn't fragrant unfortunately, but gorgeous and long-lasting though.

You could try it, although i believe it does take some good diffused sunlight or some strong indoor growing lights. I find that they are quite fond of cool environments.

We get into the lower 40s where I live from time to time, though most of the winter the lows are in the 50s. We can get up to 100 in summer, but usually more in the upper 80s to low 90s in my area, with nights in the 60s. Do you think that would work?

I think that will be fine. The most important thing is that you give it as much hours of light as possible and you will get it going and sending out massive thick roots. Let me warn you, these guys get massive! and the leaves are very thick, rigid and leathery and get quite wide.

Can they take direct sun? We have plenty of that here. I didn't realize they were that flexible about growing. Getting big is no problem, since it'd be outdoors. Maybe I'll let it climb a palm tree or something.

I must stress that this cross cannot take direct full midday intense sunlight. Especially at a small size. I have heard of instances where large mature plants 4 feet and above have done fine in full sunlight. But you will get occasional leaf burn with the change of the positioning of the sun at specific times of the year.

OK. I can make sure they get protection from the mid-day sun once I get one of them to try.

I think that I would have to get a more compact one. My best grow area is getting too full, and I have some baby vandaceous that will get pretty big.
