This is my first and only vanda. Mine came bare rooted. Looked really cool. I hung it outside on my deck last Summer and kept up my daily watering routine. It sprouted a spike with 6 buds. When the first few buds started to open, I moved it indoors to enjoy it and the rest of the buds blasted! I potted it and leave it by my South window since then...

Great plant. Thanks for posting. Interesting growing too.
How does this color compare to V. Pachara Delight? From the internet pictures I've seen, TB looks more intense. Is that the case?

Beautiful! I love the color. I like the blue vandas because they have a color that you don't often see in other orchids.

Thank you. I'm not so sure about the differences between Pachara Delight and Tokyo Blue. The veins on TB are more prominent, I think. The veins and spots on my vanda are more defined as the flowers mature...

Thank you. You're exactly right about the colors of vanda. I think they are much loved because of the distinctive colors.

That is insanely blue!!! I don't think your temps did the plant any injustice in the bloom department.

The blue ones can be pretty tough. They don't seem to be very picky about temperatures.

It has been indoors sitting on the window sill since late Sept. and the temp has been around 70F. That and the lack of sun light have been worried me the most. If vanda can bloom in winter in Seattle, I think it can survive and bloom anywhere else in the US!

Gorgeous

I'm starting to think I should try again with a Vanda.
