[QUOTE=OrchidLover1982;648476]I just fastened it to a tree outside here in semi shade. I live in the subtropics. Seems to be liking where it is at the moment. It had two spikes this spring though its just starting to establish its roots on the tree.[/QUO

Growing up in Asia, I too used to have the luxury of fastening my orchids to tree trunks and let mother nature does the rest.

I just noticed two tiny spikes on my retusa too! I'm so happy! Now I just hope the spikes won't abort like it did last year.

Yeah its good just fastening them to a tree and watching their roots go crazy travelling up and down and all over They mostly seem to take care of themselves but require some additional water to stay healthy here in drier periods. Especially if they hit a dry period during their growing season.
