Awesome rebloom! I also have what I think is a Asco Noid and it just finished blooming and is now putting out another spike as the blooms fade on the original. It is so exciting to have a plant that continues to bloom! Great job keeping it healthy being new to Vandas, I am also new to Vandas and have 4 already I was scared of them for so long and kept to phals, but now I know I can grow them! They even tolerate the very low humidity in the house this winter.
Beautiful! Congratulations on the new spike. I know exactly how you feel since I did the same thing a couple of years ago (breaking off an only spike on a vanda!!!)
Yours seems to thrive with the care you are giving it. How long has it been in the vase?
Thanks for all your kind words :-) still blooming beautifully.
RhynT - I purchased the ascocenda back in Sept last year so its only 5 months and its been in vase culture since then. It seems really happy where it is on my kitchen windowsill. It a very big window so gets a heck of a lot of light. Not sure how it will fare in the summer months as it will be in full sun. I may move it.......not sure yet.
The 2nd spike is growing all be it slowly.
Thanks.
Just thought j would post a few more pictures of the ever progressing 2nd spike.....not long now till they start to open. Also took a few close ups the other day of some of the current blooms
