There were 40-50 pots of this at the nursery and nearly all were spiking! I just had to bring one back. You would too.
Somehow wood shavings is the nursery's preferred media for young plants and it's a no no in my microclimate because it gets dense when wet and retains water for a long time. I repotted it to bark and charcoal mix. Thank goodness the spike still came thru and there was no bud blast.
