Sorry about that, Know how you feel but, it happens! ...
The Good news is that it will very probably put out a new spike on the next growth of leaves very soon! Well that's what happened to mine not long ago and I now have a flowered spike.
Keep us posted!

I hate it when that happens. We all feel your loss. Let's hope that it starts a new spike soon!

Sorry to hear, but this stuff happens! I recently killed both my catasetum unopened spikes with Orange guard, with the same spray killed the buds on cattleya luteola just before opening and one spike on oncidium, so damage was really really bad, and I was mad like hell, mostly at myself, and also at the seller who told me specifically it was safe on spikes and buds! So, I feel your pain, and I had it multiplied all in 1 week! The good thing is, if they do spike, that means we do provide good care, so next time:-)

Yikes. I've done that too. Hope you get more flowers on the one that's still there.

Feel your pain, believe me. Chin up, another spike will form. Just be patient

hehe....been there.
It won't grow from the same spike but it will certainly send up a new spike in a few weeks to a month. The good thing is that it is happy and spiking for you so not to worry.

Thanks all,
I was having a pretty miserable day on Monday everything was going wrong - then to break the spike off just about finished me off
I'm ok now. As much as i'm annoyed with myself for being so flippin' clumsy, it already has one in full bloom and I noticed the other day there is a third spike just starting, and its growing a new root, so its obviously happy.
Just got to wait a bit longer now for more flowers
