yep well mealy bugs are a Big YUCK!!!! and they adore Gastros as well as Phal equestris ... you think you've conquered them and suddenly as soon as there is a bloom in sight they appear!!!!
but I have a "method" no 1 : Take 'em off with a propelling pencil by hand (
this is 'my N° Uno tool)
I Take the ones I can see off squashing them to Brown pulp ....
I then take a photo in sunlight (don't know why ) but I get the impression they 'come out' in sunlight.... that's where u see ones you've not seen!
Then get a second 'pencil job'.... if I see that there is a bit of 'white stuff' I can't get rid of with the tip of the pencil I then use alcohol...
this procedure takes care of them for a while especially when in flower.If not in flower I zap with the alcohol or have also used an anti mealys spray...
takes me months & months to get a plant free of the buggers!
