Bought this from an orchid sale a month ago...I'm not entirely impressed with the flowers this go-around, but I think it's because of the change in environment from where I bought it to my house. It also didn't produce a ton of flower this time, but it will probably do it the next time. It also badly needs to be repotted, which I will do after it finishes this bloom.

Apparently this hybrid (V. Bangkok Blue x V. Dr. Anek) is named after the Orchid Society of Mauritius, which is a small island nation in the Indian Ocean. Despite the Bangkok Blue being a nice plant, it seems like color-wise it only gets its pigment from the Dr. Anek part.

The upper petal on that one is a bit deformed. If you Google search for this plant you can find a more official looking picture.

You can certainly see Bangkok blue in it from the pattern and tessellation. Most likely dr anek was the pollen parent.
